Many peptides play key roles in PCOS, such as GLP-1, LEAP-2 and ghrelin, Asprosin and XP-1 (Temur et al., 2017; Alan et al., 2019; Aslanipour et al., 2020; Cena et al., 2020), among which the GLP-1 receptor agonists have been proven to significantly reduce BMI and serum testosterone levels in PCOS patients (Niafar et al., 2016). This evidence concerns the gene GHRL and polycystic ovary syndrome.
