Aberrant INO80 function has been associated with progression of multiple types of cancer through its binding to key enhancer and super-enhancer elements involved in oncogenic gene expression, including CXCL5 and MAP3K1 in non-small-cell lung cancer (Zhang et al., 2017), BMPR1A in live cancer (Wang et al., 2019), and MITF and SOX9 in melanoma (Zhou et al., 2016a). The gene discussed is MAP3K1; the disease is cancer.
