PIN1 and cancer: Several studies have documented that Pin1 regulates a myriad of proteins implicated in cancer progression, including 1) cell cycle regulators (Cyclin D1, Cyclin D2, Cyclin D3, Cyclin E, CDK4, and CDK6), 2) oncogenic proteins (c-Jun, c-Myc, and β-catenin), and 3) tumor suppressors (p53, p63, and p73) (Ryo et al., 2001; Wulf et al., 2001; Liou et al., 2002; Zacchi et al., 2002; Zheng et al., 2002; Yeh et al., 2004; Zhou and Lu, 2016; Kim et al., 2022).
