We observed a strong positive correlation between chromatin accessibility at IE8 and the expression ratio between 3’MMPs (MMP1, MMP3, MMP10, MMP12, MMP13) and 5’MMPs (MMP7, MMP8, MMP20, MMP27) in TNBC patients, supporting the idea that IE8 effectively contributes to the modulation of gene expression at the Chr11q22.2 in this malignant neoplasm (Figures S8e and S8f). This evidence concerns the gene MMP27 and cancer.
