CD4 and Opportunistic infection: Again, CD4 is used to evaluate the progress of HIV and the result obtained can offer insight in to the management of HIV, the risk of opportunistic infection as well as an indicator of treatment failure.[11] The CD4 + count of PLWHIV were significantly (P = .0001) lower (643.69 ± 257.08 cell/mm3) than the control subjects (763.81 ± 169.89 cell/mm3) however the finding revealed higher CD4 Count levels among the study subjects indicating good management by the center.
