Winter et al. showed that there were significant differences in cross sectional area (CSA) of peripheral nerves, vagus nerve and cervical roots between neurofibromatosis type 1 (NF1) patients, patients with nf2-related schwannomatosis (formerly known as neurofibromatosis type 2 (NF2)) and healthy controls. This evidence concerns the gene NF2 and neurofibromatosis type 1.
