We also found that the CD39 signaling pathway, which is implicated in immunosuppression in cancer and myocardial protection after ischemic injury, is preferentially enriched between IFN-ECs and immune cells in regenerative-stage mouse hearts (P1MI) and signals from macrophages to IFN-ECs (Figs 5C and S5F) (Köhler et al, 2007; Saldanha-Araujo et al, 2011; Wheeler et al, 2012; Allard et al, 2017). The gene discussed is IFNA1; the disease is cancer.
