DLX2 and cancer: Our rescue approach identified that loss of TES1, but not TES2 signaling, triggered LCL apoptosis, as judged by upregulation of caspase 3 and 7 activity and by FACS analysis for plasma membrane annexin V. Disruption of cell death signaling is a hallmark of cancer (92), and enrichment analysis identified that the KEGG apoptosis pathway was highly altered by loss of TES1.
