BST2 and HIV infectious disease: Type-1 IFNs, in turn, lead to the upregulation of interferon-stimulated genes (ISGs) such as IFITM, BST-2, APOBEC, SAMHD1, Mx10, IP-10, BST/tetherin, TRIM5, GBP5, ZAP, CNP, Mov10, etc., family members that have been found to inhibit HIV infection [24,25,26].
