Since TLR-mediated innate immunity plays a crucial role in viral infections [87], we first examined the gene expression profile of the most common TLRs associated with viral infections, i.e., TLR-2, 3, 4, 7, 8, 9 in the PBMCs of HIV-infected (including both LTNPs and progressors) and HIV-uninfected individuals. The gene discussed is TLR2; the disease is viral infectious disease.
