SOD1 and diabetes mellitus: R. cordifolia treatment resulted in a highly significant increase in SOD activity when compared to the diabetes control group in both tissues (F4.35 = 336.1964, p < 0.01 in brain; F4.35 = 821.295, p < 0.01, in sciatic nerve) that inhibits the excessive release of free radicals in tissues and prevents further damage (Figure 5 and Figure 6).
