We speculate that these adverse effects may be driven by known skeletal muscle atrophy protagonists such as Interleukin-6 (IL-6), IL-8, Heat shock protein 70 (Hsp70) and Hsp90, respectively, all of which are known to be highly expressed and secreted from H1299 and SW480 cell lines according to the Cancer Cell Line Encyclopedia (CCLE) database (https://depmap.org/portal/ccle/ (accessed on 29 October 2023)). This evidence concerns the gene IL6 and cancer.
