TAK-242 inhibited the mobilization of Nuclear Factor κB (NF-κB) and Activator Protein 1 (AP-1) into the nucleus, reduced the expression of essential transcription factors (NF-κB-p65 and AP-1) in the synovial tissue of adjuvant-induced arthritis (AIA) rats, and improved local joint inflammation and bone damage in AIA rats when studied in adjuvant-induced arthritic rats. This evidence concerns the gene NFKB1 and inflammation.
