ACE and Stroke: As expected, there is a significant correlation between the increased risk of stroke and the increased proportion of use of drugs used to treat cardiovascular diseases, such as angiotensin-converting enzyme inhibitors (ACEi) (p = 0.006), alpha and beta antagonists (p = 0.019), calcium channel blockers (p = 0.020), potassium-sparing diuretics (p = 0.029) and loop diuretics (p = 0.001) (Table 3).
