The expression of key factors associated with glycolysis, such as enolase 1 (Eno1), sedoheptulokinase (Shpk), glucokinase (Gck), pyruvate kinase M2 (Pkm2), and phosphofructokinase, liver type (Pfkl), was augmented when miR-22 was absent, indicating that miR-22 deficiency is related to the expression of critical factors that promote hepatic steatosis development in obesogenic conditions. This evidence concerns the gene GCK and fatty liver disease.
