A case-control study, which included 336 adult Pakistani males and 270 females, found that only female’s carriers of the rs17782313 MC4R genotype were at a significant 2.43- and 1.55-fold (95% CI: 1.19–4.96, p = 0.015, and 95% CI: 1.1–2.18, p = 0.01) risk of being overweight and having obesity, respectively [57]. This evidence concerns the gene MC4R and obesity disorder.
