IL6 and atrial fibrillation: A study by Romero et al., of women presenting with threatened preterm labor and intact membranes demonstrated that higher concentrations of amniotic fluid IL-6 were found in MIAC compared to patients with a negative AF culture (IL-6 median 91.2 ng/mL vs. median 0.4 ng/mL, p < 0.001) and that an IL-6 concentration > 11.3 ng/mL had a sensitivity of 93.3% and specificity of 91.6% for the detection of MIAC [88].
