INS and type 2 diabetes mellitus: Yoo et al.31 randomized patients with poorly controlled T2D (baseline HbA1c of 9%) who were treated with insulin (60%) or noninsulin therapies (40%), to real-time CGM vs. self monitoring blood glucose (SMBG) and demonstrated significantly greater reduction in HbA1c (0.50%, p = 0.004) at 12 weeks in the CGM group, along with reduction in total daily calorie intake, greater weight loss, and increased physical activity.
