One group has used CAR T cells that target B7-H3, shown to be effective against NSCLC in both in vitro and in vivo studies, with the co-expression of the CCL2 receptor CCR2b, which, as they demonstrated, improves the ability of this therapy to cross the BBB and treat metastatic NSCLC in the brain [79].
