TEM8 is already known to be upregulated in several tumor models, including but not limited to melanoma (mice [24,33]), triple-negative breast cancer (mice [19]; human [42]), undifferentiated breast cancer (human [44]; mice [33]), medullary and estrogen receptor-negative breast carcinomas (human [22]), prostate (human [45]), pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (xenograft [46]), gastric (human [23]), and colorectal cancers (human [47]). This evidence concerns the gene ANTXR1 and melanoma.
