The diagnoses of “hypoglycemia” and “hyperglycemia” (all with CVI=1 in relation to relevance), related to the need for hormonal regulation, occur especially in preterm newborns, in septic conditions, as a result of an inadequate response to insulin, surgical stress, infusion of glucose or lipids through venous hydration and/or parenteral nutrition, glucose infusion rate higher than tolerated or inadequate prescription/infusion of prolonged parenteral nutrition. This evidence concerns the gene INS and Hypoglycemia.
