The most important finding of our study, however, is that for the first time we described a significant, gradual (at least until day 10) decrease in the percentage of circulating Helios+ Tregs in the acute and subacute phases of stroke and a concomitant successive increase in both absolute values and the rate of Helios− Tregs on day 90 when these differences were less pronounced, although still significant. This evidence concerns the gene IKZF2 and stroke disorder.
