Brain-derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF), a member of the neurotrophic growth family, has recently considered as a mediator for reducing the risk of cardiovascular disease (CVD), type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM), hyperglycemia, dyslipidemia, obesity, and metabolic syndrome (MetS)16. This evidence concerns the gene BDNF and obesity due to melanocortin 4 receptor deficiency.
