Our results demonstrate elevated expressions of autophagy-related protein 5 (ATG5) and microtubule-associated protein 1 light chain 3 B I (LC3BI) in the skeletal muscles of young male SAAR mice when compared to young male CF mice, with consistent levels observed in aged males; meanwhile, the expression of LC3BII remained unaltered across both diet groups in all cohorts (Fig. 3c). This evidence concerns the gene ATG5 and cystic fibrosis.
