In another work performed on urine enriched in prostatic secretions [33], Kim revealed that a diagnostic panel composed by 6 peptides belonging to five gene products (IDHC, SERA, IGJ, EF2 and KCRB) was able to discriminate between BPH and PCa patients with an AUC of 0.77 (95% CI 0.68–0.87) in a large cohort of samples (n = 207). Here, EEF2 is linked to benign prostatic hyperplasia.
