Regarding the control of systemic hypertension in these patients, 41.8% (n = 171) of respondents preferentially prescribed a CCB, such as amlodipine, while 38.4% (n = 157) preferred an ACE inhibitor, such as enalapril or benazepril, and 19.3 % (n = 79) and 0.5% (n = 2) usually chose, respectively, an ARB, such as telmisartan, or a beta-blocker, such as propranolol or atenolol.
