Compared with LDLR−/− mice fed a high-fat diet, TC and LDL-c levels were significantly increased in LDLR−/− ovariectomized mice fed a high-fat diet, suggesting that ovariectomy in LDLR−/− mice exacerbated hyperlipidemia (Fig. 2A). The gene discussed is LDLR; the disease is hyperlipidemia.
