SERPINB3 is also known as squamous cell carcinoma antigen,18 associates with hypoxia,19,20 and promotes MYC activation,21,22 cancer stemness,23,24 metabolic reprogramming,19 and inflammation.25–27 These functions overlap with the characteristics of the basal-like/squamous subtype3; thus, we chose SERPINB3 for further investigation.
