GOLM1 and Cirrhosis: The significant increase in GP73 expression may be the result of hepatocellular viral infections (HBV and HCV) or nonviral causes (alcoholic liver disease, autoimmune hepatitis, cirrhosis, and liver malignancies) [21–23], suggesting that GP73 expression may respond to different pathogenic mechanisms, such as acute and chronic hepatitis, cirrhosis, and HCC.
