Kronsten et al.29 found lower levels of IL-10 in blood from patients with cirrhosis compared to healthy individuals; however, IL-10 increased, along with IL-1β, IL-6, TNF-α, IL-8 and IFNs, when stimulated by heat-killed Escherichia choli and lipopolysaccharides, indicating increases of IL-10 when inflammatory activity is high. This evidence concerns the gene IL10 and Cirrhosis.
