MAPT and Alzheimer disease: Compared with the WT control mice, AD control mice showed much more disease-related phospho-tau (p-tau) 231 and p-tau 396 positive neurons in the cortex and hippocampus than WT control mice (136% and 55% increase of p-tau 231 and p-tau 396 positive neurons in the cortex, respectively, both P <0.0001; 225% and 58% increase of p-tau 231 and p-tau 396 positive neurons in the hippocampus, respectively, both P <0.0001; Fig. 3A-F).
