ADAR and Zika virus infectious disease: Here, we explore whether congenital viral infection is associated with changes in ADAR editing of key host genes, and whether genes with editing changes can be linked to important neurodevelopmental functions, by examining publicly available microarray data of congenital human cytomegalovirus (HCMV) infection and RNA-seq data of congenital mouse cytomegalovirus (MCMV) infection and Zika virus (ZIKV) infection in mice to assess the effect of congenital infections on ADAR expression and editing.
