Having served in the military (60% of sample) is associated with post mortem neuritic amyloid plaque (for each comparison of higher to lower C scores OR = 1.26; 95% confidence interval [CI] = 1.06–1.49) and tau pathology (B score OR = 1.10; 95% CI = 1.08–1.12). The gene discussed is MAPT; the disease is amyloidosis.
