Inflammatory cytokines, such as interleukin-6, tumor necrosis factor alpha, and so forth, are produced by the tumor micro-environment cells, which in NHL represents mostly about 10% of tumor mass, while in HL the cytokines are produced not only by large amount of tumor microenvironment cells but also by the Hodgkin and Reed–Sternberg cells (53, 54). The gene discussed is TNF; the disease is non-Hodgkin lymphoma.
