Mineral and bone disorder (MBD) is a common complication in children with chronic kidney disease (CKD), characterized by abnormalities of calcium, phosphorus, parathyroid hormone (PTH), vitamin D, fibroblast growth factor (FGF) 23, vascular calcifications, impairment of linear growth, changes in bone histology and bone deformities [1–3]. This evidence concerns the gene PTH and chronic kidney disease.
