We hypothesized that O‐GlcNAcylation, as the cellular stress sensor, may also participate in the pathogenesis of pulmonary fibrosis and the regulation of cell polarity.[17] Here we demonstrate that O‐GlcNAcylation regulates cell polarity by modifying pericentriolar material 1 (PCM1) and centrosomal protein 131 (CEP131), centriolar satellite components responsible for anchoring microtubules to the centrosome. Here, PCM1 is linked to pulmonary fibrosis.
