INS and Insulin resistance: Together, these results suggest that changes in plasma levels of several senescence‐related proteins are associated with measures of metabolic health, and are in agreement with preclinical studies that have implicated senescence in the pathogenesis of insulin resistance and showed that behavioral (exercise), genetic or pharmacological clearance of senescent cells in obese mice improves insulin sensitivity (Palmer et al., 2019; Schafer et al., 2016; Wang et al., 2022; Wiley & Campisi, 2021).
