With high HIV-RNA levels and low CD4 + T-cell counts, people living with HIV/AIDS are at high-risk of advanced infections,[1,2] which make them more susceptible to HIV infection- and treatment-related morbidities and thus increase mortality risk.[3] Among people living with HIV/AIDS, wasting, the onset of opportunistic infections, chronic comorbidities, and drug toxicities can be causes for hospitalization.[4].
