IL-8 (1–3 ng/mL) is a non-structural protein secreted by neutrophils and macrophages, which plays an important role in the proliferation of angiogenesis and, in particular, its concentration dramatically increases in the presence of oropharyngeal squamous cell carcinoma (OSCC), which is one type of head and neck cancer [31,32,33,34]. Here, CXCL8 is linked to oropharynx squamous cell carcinoma.
