The compelling therapeutic effects exerted by AC and lovastatin were molecularly dissected by investigating changes in the protein expression of genes liable for cellular proliferation (p-Rb/Rb, Cyclin A, Cyclin D1, and CDK1), aggressiveness (AXL, p-AKT, and survivin), and stemness (SIRT1, Notch1, and c-Myc) (CD44 and CD133) in PC cells. Here, RB1 is linked to pachyonychia congenita.
