Among the molecular changes observed in BC tissues, the increased over-representation of the Longevity Assurance Homolog 2/Ceramide Synthase 2 genes (LASS2/CERS2) was particularly intriguing, given that this gene is known as a tumor suppressor, and its expression is reduced in prostate and other types of cancer, including BC [8,9]. The gene discussed is CERS2; the disease is neoplasm.
