LGALS3 and heart failure: The study also revealed the reciprocal relationships in Group 0 between UEA-I-stained glycans and (i) the pulse pressure amplification (PPA), which reflects changes in central aortic pressure, and (ii) the blood levels of galectin-3, a carbohydrate-binding protein, which binds to lactosamine and its derivatives (our unpublished data), is associated with glycocalyx [54,55], and is a marker of cardiac remodeling and heart failure [56,57].
