A study consisting of 50 convalescent COVID-19 patients, predominantly hospitalized due to the severity of the acute SARS-CoV-2 pneumonia, showed coagulation plasma abnormalities, such as increased levels of plasma FVIII factor and endothelial cell activators including thrombin generation potential, when compared with a COVID-19-negative control group after 10 weeks following the acute episode [24]. This evidence concerns the gene F8 and COVID-19.
