PLAUR and colorectal cancer: Furthermore, uPAR-PET/CT has the potential to serve as a diagnostic tool to select patients for uPAR-targeted optically guided surgery, a modality currently being tested in a phase II trial in OSCC and OPSCC patients (EudraCT no. 2022-001361-12), or uPAR-targeted radionuclide therapy, which has previously been demonstrated to be effective in animal models of human prostate cancer [36] and colorectal cancer [37].
