Strikingly, some studies showed a reduced risk of SARS-CoV-2 infection among CF patients [1] and animal models [2] as well as a role for CFTR in the regulation of SARS-CoV-2 infection and replication of human bronchial epithelial cell lines and primary cells in vitro [3, 4].
