Congenital thrombocytopenia not only poses a risk of unnecessary treatment such as splenectomy due to misdiagnosis as ITP but can also involve nephritis, deafness, and cataract in MYH9-related disease as well as leukemia in FPD-AML; therefore, careful differentiation of ITP and congenital thrombocytopenia is required [78]. Here, MYH9 is linked to autoimmune thrombocytopenic purpura.
