We found that the low expression of EGFL7 in neoplastic cells was associated with greater lymph node involvement and lymphatic vessel invasion, possibly due to dysregulation of carcinogenesis-related processes (cell growth, cell adhesion, angiogenesis) through important pathways such as proteoglycans in cancer, Ras, Rap1, MAPK and PI3K/Akt. The gene discussed is AKT1; the disease is cancer.
