TP53 and rectal cancer: In this study of 750 men and women with rectal cancers, using a 20-year follow-up, the authors observed a non-statistically significant reduced risk of a TP53 mutation (marker for rectal cancer) among those who drank red wine versus non-drinkers or non-red wine drinkers (OR = 0.64 (0.35-1.18) P-trend = 0.39).
