LPS was shown to reduce the percentages of CD4+ T cells and CD4+CD25+Foxp3+-positive Treg cells in the lymphocytes of the rats, which were significantly reversed by treatment with QHSG at 5.5 g/kg, 11 g/kg and 22 g/kg and dexamethasone at 2 mg/kg (Figures 3C, D), manifesting that QHSG combatted LPS-induced ALI by regulation of the immune function in the rats. The gene discussed is FOXP3; the disease is acute respiratory distress syndrome.
