Somatic mutations in this gene have frequently been reported in gliomas, gastro/pancreatic neuroendocrine tumors, pheochromocytomas, and paragangliomas (Crona and Skogseid 2016;Jiao et al. 2011).ATRX has also been found to be mutated in gliomas and acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) (Bradley et al. 2019).ATRX plays an essential role in brain development and is ubiquitously expressed at high levels in brain tissue (Valenzuela et al. 2021). The gene discussed is ATRX; the disease is paraganglioma.
