While NR0B1 has long been shown to play a role in adrenal development, and its loss of function is associated with adrenal hypoplasia (Reutens et al., 1999; Suntharalingham et al., 2015), recent research on hepatocytes has suggested that NR0B1 KO leads to inflammatory injury (Yun et al., 2022). This evidence concerns the gene NR0B1 and chronic primary adrenal insufficiency.
